Cross Country Advances to State

Earlier this week, the  Boy’s Cross Country team and individual girl’s team qualifier, Senior Jazmin Hernandez traveled to Huntsville to compete in the Regional  meet. Qualifying teams from central Texas all the way to Galveston made the journey to Sam Houston State university to compete for a spot in the State meet, held at Old Settler’s park in Round Rock on November 4th.

The race was held at Kate Barr Ross park and consisted of 3 loops of a little over a mile, totaling 3.1 miles or 5 kilometers. The boys team placed 4th overall, qualifying them for State. Sophomore Dan Arnold placed fourth individually with a time of 16:36. Jazmin placed 3rd in the meet with a time of 19:17. This place gave her a spot in the State meet as an individual qualifier. This is Jazmin’s 4th time qualifying for region and 3rd time qualifying for state.
