Can Eating Chocolate be Good for you?

When you were a kid your parents probably told you not to eat chocolate, because it’s bad for you. Well they weren’t wrong, not exactly.

As you’ve probably come to conclude, eating too much chocolate can be bad for you, but if you eat a moderate amount of dark chocolate, it can actually be quite healthy. Cocoa, which is used to make chocolate, provides phytochemicals. These may improve your health by acting as antioxidants. The darker the chocolate, the higher the phytochemical content.

Image result for chocolateAnd if you’ve had the problem of high cholesterol then chocolate is a surprisingly good way to lower it. Why? Because chocolate contains cocoa flavanols and plant sterols, it helps support your cardiovascular health by lowering cholesterol and  leveling out blood pressure.

So, now that we’ve gone over the benefits, it’s time to go over the negatives. First of all chocolate can lower your bone density, and it can also cause headaches, not to mention, if you own a cat or a dog, it can be quite toxic to both species. Another problem is that it can contain a high amount of calories, so if you’re trying to lose weight, you better watch how much of it you’re eating.

Now to answer the question of this article, “Can Eating Chocolate be Good for you?” the answer is well, it’s honestly the same answer to pretty much any other story I write, it can be good for you, as long as you don’t consume too much of it, so as long as you eat chocolate in moderation, you can have a couple of health benefits.
