We all know from Evan Chen’s article “5 Foods NOT to Feed Dogs” what you should keep far away from man’s best friend… But what about our furry felines?

1. Coffee

Coffee and other caffeinated drinks and foods can cause your cat to become restless and suffer from rapid breathing, heart palpitations and muscle tremors. It’s best to keep your Starbucks far from your kitten’s reach.

2. Xylitol

This sweetener, used in a lot of sugar-free foods, is known to be extremely dangerous to dogs. There are no known cases of a cat falling ill from consumption, but you should still be wary in letting your pet eat anything that contains Xylitol.

3. Milk

Cats can become lactose intolerant when they reach adulthood, and milk, like all other dairy, can cause vomiting and digestive problems if digested.

4. Alcohol

It may sound fun, getting your cat drunk and all, but you’ll want to reconsider after hearing what alcohol can do to your beloved animal. It can easily cause severe liver and brain damage. As little as a tablespoon can put an adult cat into a coma; a little more can kill it.

5. Grapes

Cats aren’t likely to eat these, and like with Xylitol, there are no reports of them becoming ill from consumption. However, dogs can suffer acute kidney failure from eating grapes or raisins, so it’s best not to risk your cats life by letting them eat these.
